Focus and Scope

The broad purpose of the peer-reviewed and transcultural research journal Mutual Images is the analysis and discussion of the everchanging, multidimensional relations between Europe and Asia, and between specific European countries or regions and specific Asian countries or regions. We specifically encourage scholars considering the case of Japan to submit article proposals.

Mutual Images is an international journal, using english as a lingua franca and striving for multi-, inter- and/or transdisciplinary perspectives. As an Open Access Journal, it provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Process

Mutual Images is a peer reviewed journal.

Any submissions (article, book review...) are first reviewed by the editorial team in order to see if the submitted work is appropriated for the journal and respects the basic requirements of a standard academic research paper. If necessary, the author might be asked to do some secretary amends before proceeding to the peer-reviewing step.

Any article or book review submitted which meet these requirements will be reviewed anonymously by two academics of a relevant field. You will be notified of the reviewer's feedbacks within two months of your submission.
